Swimming Tuition

Badges

Pupils who successfully complete an award will be issued with a slip, which can be taken to reception where the badge/certificate can be purchased. Passport badges to the next level will be given to the teacher of that level with the relevant colour of hat to purchase.

Instructors

All our swimming development team are committed to ensuring your child progress through our swim school, and on as far as they wish to go.  With this in mind we operate a system, that should you have any concerns regarding your child’s progress or require any information, you can leave a brief message outlining your enquiry at Reception.

This will then be passed onto your child’s teacher who will phone or, if required, arrange a meeting to discuss your child’s progress.  This ensures that all children receive their full lesson without interruption and continue to progress to their full potential.

Holiday lessons

Lessons will still continue during the main school holidays. Intensive “learn to swim” courses will be also commencing during this period, so enrol your child for those extra lessons to boost their learning or improve their techniques.

Disabled Tuitions

Where possible, Oldham Community Leisure Ltd will do its utmost to provide and ensure swimmers with a disability are able to access swimming, swimming tuition and coaching whether this is an integrated or an individual session. We currently have swimmers with a disability who have represented the Advanced Training Scheme in the National Swimming competition. Teaching and coaching swimmers who have a disability is no different to teaching and coaching non-disabled swimmers. The basic principles of BLABT (Body position, Legs, Arms, Breathing, Timing) still apply and it is merely a case of adjusting and adapting the learning and training process according to the swimmers\' abilities. Only from a health and safety point of view is it important to acknowledge what the specific impairment factors are.
