Active Adults Project (Added 08.07.10)

In 2010 the ‘Active Adults Project’ was launched in Oldham, with a focus on encouraging individuals 16 years -75 years old, who currently lead a sedentary lifestyle or do little sports and physical activity. The projects drive is to create a more active borough by providing:

•Sport & Physical Activity within local community settings

•Back to Sport’ Introduction back into sports i.e. netball & football

•Breaking down barriers to Sport & Physical Activity perceived by individuals. The project engages with communities to signpost existing activities, whilst also creating new, exciting, innovative physical activity and sport opportunities in the heart of communities. By creating a more active community, we allow more individuals to take that step to improve their own lifestyle.

A wide range of activities are available:

•Boxercise

•Aerobics

•Pilates

•Recreational Football & Cricket

•Slow Football (Over 50’s)

•Netball

•Yoga

•Swimming
